Our School
DMS Campus
The Desert Marigold campus is a rare and precious place that serves as the foundation for our
outstanding educational curriculum. We are situated on five acres of property. That was
purchased in 1996, with a 2-story farmhouse, a barn, and a big pond. Much care is taken to
develop our campus and classrooms as a place where children naturally discover
the world and hence, themselves. The campus philosophy supports and promotes natural health,
organic foods and environmentally sound practices such as the use of low impact paints, stains,
and building materials as well as natural toys and play-spaces.In 2003 we added a 3 classroom building pictured here behind the boots that we started use in the 2004-2005 school year. In 2005 we added another 3 classroom building. Pictured to the lower left, the new building is located to the left of the old modular gray building in the photo.
Also, on our campus we have gardens that are planted and cared for with the children who eat
and share the delicious rewards. Currently in the planning stages is a new program we are
working on called seed to feed.
Bringing organic gardening and natural food right into our future school lunch program.
