Garden Notes January 25th

by mystique on January 25, 2013

As you walk through the garden now and in the coming weeks, you can see an ongoing face lift in the orchard.  Now is the time of year for each of our fruit trees to get a hair cut.  Pruning is an important part of insuring, long lasting growth and health, not to mention plentiful fruit.  All the fruit tree clippings will make their way through our chipper and onto the pathways, as another demonstration of how we put the “S” into sustainability.  Farmer Tony will be doing another VPA sponsored workshop coming up in February.   Keeping with the theme of “Biodynamic gardening”, this workshop will cover the BD Preps, which are so important to revitalizing and healing the earth.
