Garden Notes February 15th
The garden is showing signs of spring with the peach trees in bloom. We also have some wonderful accelerated growth and lots of green from all the plants in the garden since the rains, it’s quite a sight to behold.
Our garden’s Red Tool Shed is starting to feel the effects of great use, now that all the grades are coming out to the to work on a weekly basis. One student can hardly fit in it, one at a time, leading to concern for safety. It is clearly time to expand. Therefore a new addition is in the workings. The plan is to add a section to the backside of the Red Tool Shed, almost equal in its size, to house all the tools for the agricultural curriculum. We are looking for help from individuals who have experience in carpentry and framing. Please contact Farmer Tony, if you are able and willing to assist in this much needed project.
The second CSA is starting up next Friday. If you’re interested in becoming a shareholder, please contact Farmer Tony, space is limited.
Farmer Tony will be doing another Valley Permaculture Alliance sponsored workshop this Saturday morning from 9:30-11 in the garden shade area. Keeping with the theme of “Biodynamic gardening”, this workshop will cover the BD Preps
that are so important to revitalizing and healing the earth. Click here for more info: http://www.phoenixpermaculture.org/events/using-biodynamic-preps-workshop
